Effective January 5th, 2008 shipping for all orders is a flat rate of $5.95.

This change should make it easier for customers to plan orders without having to worry about being pushed into higher shipping brackets if they want to add books to an order.

You may also have your books shipped twice a month or weekly in the United States. There is a $5.95 additional charge per month if you would like twice a month shipments. There is an $11.95 additional charge per month if you would like weekly shipments. These options are only available for orders containing books.

Late orders for for December 2007 and earlier will still use our old shipping rates.

US customers now have the option to select UPS for their shipments by doing the following:

1) Login to your DCBS account
2) Click My Profile
3) Select UPS
4) Click Save Changes

Important note: Your carrier selection may not save properly if the buttons for bags and boards or for shipping frequency are empty. If this is the case, just make a selection for bags and boards and a selection for shipping frequency before clicking the "Save Changes" button.

Also, work is progressing very well to add all of the InStockTrades items onto the DCBS site. Soon you will be able to order over 4300 trade paperbacks and hardcovers through either InStockTrades or DCBS.

July 7, 2007 - DCBS undergoes site upgrade

Welcome to the new DCBS site! We’ve been working hard to make the DCBS site more informative and easier to use. With this upgrade, you will see the following improvements:

• 3 alternatives for viewing DCBS product pages:
  • “All Product Details” views which contain all product text without any additional clicking.
  • “Thumbnails” views which are similar to the old DCBS product view.
  • “Text Details” views which allow for faster order preparation and allow for multiple books to be placed in the shopping cart at the same time.
• Replacement of the “expanding” product descriptions so that our site is more compatible with Macs and Firefox.
• Ability to sort product screens alphabetically, by product code, or price.
• A better menu structure that doesn’t get hidden behind objects on the page with certain browsers.
• A bigger, “widescreen” movie promoting particular titles or events for the current order month.
• This “Latest News” section to let you know about important items affecting comics and your DCBS orders.

And Coming Soon:

• Comprehensive trade paperback listings in the InStocktrades format. In addition to being able to pre-order new trade paperback offerings each month, all in stock trades will also be listed for purchase including 3-5 page previews for newer releases where permitted by the publishers. • The launch of First Light. Is it ever difficult to add new selections to your monthly fix? First Light gives publishers, writers, artists, and others the ability to load preview pages, character summaries, brief storyline summaries, creative teams, and other information right to the DCBS site. And it is all free to use. Free to you and free to publishers and creative teams using the service.
• Blogs. You can have your very own blog hosted on the DCBS site.
• Creating and downloading customizable reports. Soon you will be able to create customized reports about shipments and items on order. The reports can be downloaded in .csv text format for easy import into Excel or other software.
